Why use a Consultant Engineer

“If you think it is expensive using a professional try using an amateur”
There is a huge difference between a consulting engineer and a consultant. There are a
number of reasons to use a professionally qualified consultant engineer but over riding
considerations must be:
- To make sure that the most appropriate equipment is used.
– you wouldn’t buy a mini to run a taxi business!
- To make sure that the equipment is properly installed
– a badly installed piece of equipment will fail prematurely and may be a very
expensive mistake and can double the cost of the equipment plus cause business
interruption.
- To make sure that after it is installed properly that it is also maintained properly
– a car without any oil in the engine wont last long and nor will other equipment
Of course the problem with lifts and escalators is that most of the equipment is behind closed
doors and not accessible to the general public.
Some of the many classic problems that we can help you avoid are:
- Sales staff misquoting standards and statutory instruments
- Sales staff recommending equipment on a commercial basis rather than what is right for the job
- Poor quality installation leading to premature failure
These problems can occur with any size of contractor, large and small, and simply employing
a well known name will not mean that a disaster will be avoided.
