On 25 September 2009, David Cooper of LECS (UK) Ltd attended the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Officers Lakes Branch conference in Newton Rigg, Cumbria and presented a seminar on lifts and lift safety.  The seminar included different types of lifts, their main components, statutory documentation and typical accidents including out of level tripping, passenger collisions with doors, mid flight stopping etc.  The event, which was sold out, is an annual conference held by members of the Institution who are active in the North West and Cumbria and LECS (UK) Ltd have previously presented seminars on escalator safety at the event.
